ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Four-hundred and eighty-three of the best truck drivers and inspectors in the U.S. are in the America’s Center and the Edward Jones Dome. Men and women representing all 50 states are driving 80,000 pound machines within a scoring zone of 18″.
The event is the 78th National Truck Driving Championship and St. Louis is hosting the event for the third time in its history. The championships include: a skill and an inspections competition with up to nine divisions based on types of trucks, including: 3-axle, 4-axle, 5-axle, flat bed, step van, tank truck and twins among others.
They also offered the opportunity for KMOX to jump into the driver’s seat and take a 53′, 40 ton, 4-axle for a practice competition.
